About India:-
India is our country. India's full name is the Republic of India. In Hindi it is called Bhārat Gaṇarājya. India is located in South Asia. A Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama becomes the first European to reach India via the Atlantic Ocean when he arrives at Calicut on the Malabar Coast. Da Gama sailed from Lisbon, Portugal, in July 1497, rounded the Cape of Good Hope, and anchored at Malindi on the east coast of Africa. The name "India" is originally derived from the name of the river Sindhu (Indus River) and has been in use in Greek.
India is tagged as the mother of so many inventions like algebra, number zero, shampoo, chess, the value of pi, and diamond mining. India has nearly 90,000 types of animals including over 350 mammals, 1,200 bird species, and 50,000 plant species. All these features made India a Unique Country in the World.
India is home to one of the oldest civilizations in the world. From the traces of hominoid activity discovered in the subcontinent, it is recognized that the area now known as India was inhabited approximately 250,000 years ago. The design of the flag of India that was first presented in 1921 to Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the All-India Congress, was created by Pingali (or Pinglay) Venkayya. It consisted of the colours associated with the two principal religions, red for Hindus and green for Muslims.
India is a vast country in the Southern portion of Asia which is bound by Indian Ocean on its south, Arabian Sea on its west and Bay of Bengal on its east and borders Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, China and Bangladesh on its north, northwest, northeast and east. India's Prime minister is Narendra Modi.
Over the centuries, there has been a significant fusion of cultures between Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Jains, Sikhs and various tribal populations in India. India is the birthplace of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and other religions. They are collectively known as Indian religions. The plurality and multiplicity of the Indian Culture is evident to the whole World as India has one of the world's largest collections of songs, music, dance, theatre, folk traditions, performing arts, rites and rituals, languages, dialects, paintings and writings that are known, as the Cultural Heritage.
