REPUBLIC DAY Republic Day marks an important event in India's history.  I t commemorates the enactment of the Constitution of India which came into effect on January 26, 1950 , and made the nation into a republic.   On this day in the year of  1950, our country was declared a Republic . This means our country was no more under the rule of some other country. Since then, every year 26th Jan is celebrated to enjoy and remember the historic independence of India from the British rule.  O n Republic Day the celebratory event takes place at  the Rajpath in the national capital . The President unfurls the flag at the Rajpath.  We are together ”  cry out loud and make your motherland proud.
