Durga puja Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava, is an annual Hindu festival originating in the Indian subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga and is also celebrated because of Durga's victory over Mahishasur.   It celebrates  the victory of good over evil as goddess Durga killed demon king Mahishasur . According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that the goddess visits her earthly abode during this time to bless her devotees.

Huma About India:- India is our country. India's full name is the Republic of India. In Hindi it is called Bhārat Gaṇarājya. India is located in South Asia. A Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama becomes the first European to reach India via the Atlantic Ocean when he arrives at Calicut on the Malabar Coast. Da Gama sailed from Lisbon, Portugal, in July 1497, rounded the Cape of Good Hope, and anchored at Malindi on the east coast of Africa.  The name "India" is originally derived from the name of the river Sindhu (Indus River) and has been in use in Greek.  India is tagged as the mother of so many inventions like algebra, number zero, shampoo, chess, the value of pi, and diamond mining. India has nearly 90,000 types of animals including over 350 mammals, 1,200 bird species, and 50,000 plant species. All these features made India a Unique Country in the World.
