Huma About India:- India is our country. India's full name is the Republic of India. In Hindi it is called Bhārat Gaṇarājya. India is located in South Asia. A Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama becomes the first European to reach India via the Atlantic Ocean when he arrives at Calicut on the Malabar Coast. Da Gama sailed from Lisbon, Portugal, in July 1497, rounded the Cape of Good Hope, and anchored at Malindi on the east coast of Africa.  The name "India" is originally derived from the name of the river Sindhu (Indus River) and has been in use in Greek.  India is tagged as the mother of so many inventions like algebra, number zero, shampoo, chess, the value of pi, and diamond mining. India has nearly 90,000 types of animals including over 350 mammals, 1,200 bird species, and 50,000 plant species. All these features made India a Unique Country in the World.

REPUBLIC DAY Republic Day marks an important event in India's history.  I t commemorates the enactment of the Constitution of India which came into effect on January 26, 1950 , and made the nation into a republic.   On this day in the year of  1950, our country was declared a Republic . This means our country was no more under the rule of some other country. Since then, every year 26th Jan is celebrated to enjoy and remember the historic independence of India from the British rule.  O n Republic Day the celebratory event takes place at  the Rajpath in the national capital . The President unfurls the flag at the Rajpath.  We are together ”  cry out loud and make your motherland proud. Let us take a pledge at this republic day to live for India till the last breath of life. If you want to live with freedom, love your country!
